Today I received a greatly anticipated phone call. The story began with our dear sister in Christ, Caroline Siah Kpou, being detained in a foreign refugee camp for many years apart from her husband. In April, after many months of communication, an opening was made by our Lord for her to go to Accra and begin an appeal with the U.N. Unfortunately, the matter was caught in the horrible papermill that such people must wade through. By God’s design, Caroline’s husband, Samuel and I had been in months of email communication and Samuel had provided me with the missing documentation he had worked so hard for through his attorney.

Then God stepped into this with a wonderful encounter with a retired Marine officer, who is also an attorney, he worked in the same office building as I did. He guided me with the missing counsel needed.

I prepared a simple email to the U.S. Embassy in Accra detailing her plight and the source of the missing documents that were required for her ability to come to America. I emailed instructions to Caroline and then we prayed for the Lord to intervene.

Praise the Lord! May 4, 2006 I received this blessed message and the picture to confirm the answer to our prayer. Caroline had been approved at the U.S. Embassy in Accra for her immigration to America.

Caroline began her journey to America September 7, 2006 and today I heard her voice, her joy and the rejoicing of her family on the phone. Thank you to all for your prayers and support.

Matthew 25:31-40 31 When the Son of man shall come in his glory, and all the holy angels with him, then shall he sit upon the throne of his glory: 32 And before him shall be gathered all nations: and he shall separate them one from another, as a shepherd divideth his sheep from the goats: 33 And he shall set the sheep on his right hand, but the goats on the left. 34 Then shall the King say unto them on his right hand, Come, ye blessed of my Father, inherit the kingdom prepared for you from the foundation of the world: 35 For I was an hungred, and ye gave me meat: I was thirsty, and ye gave me drink: I was a stranger, and ye took me in: 36 Naked, and ye clothed me: I was sick, and ye visited me: I was in prison, and ye came unto me. 37 Then shall the righteous answer him, saying, Lord, when saw we thee an hungred, and fed thee? or thirsty, and gave thee drink? 38 When saw we thee a stranger, and took thee in? or naked, and clothed thee? 39 Or when saw we thee sick, or in prison, and came unto thee? 40 And the King shall answer and say unto them, Verily I say unto you, Inasmuch as ye have done it unto one of the least of these my brethren, ye have done it unto me.

Take time to consider these words from Matthew and the new page from the Child Care Foundation that lists the children enrolled for school this year.

These children are in school under extreme circumstances, and many more are in need of schooling. Would you consider becoming a part of the support for them?

Consider this message from John Travis to me from the last CCF board meeting:

At the moment,we have Ken& Mary Davis of Colorado Spring as the only family that committed themselves for the feeding of the children that attend the Bible School on Saturdays. The number of children who needs this spiritual education in this refugee camp is increasing at the same time, the funding becoming smaller for the children. What can we do to help?We now have about 100 children.
1.All members of the Board contribute 20,000 cedis/USD 2.22 or more monthly to help with the feeding of the children on a monthly basis.
2.Ask all other NGO who may be able to help with the feeding so as to keep up with the number of needed children we have now.

The people that live in Buduburam, who do not have anything, give out of their ‘nothing’ to make this ministry happen. They have answered the message from our Lord in Matthew.

Ask yourself if you also wish to follow their Christian example.

My apologies to all of the readers of this blog. I have been silent for a month to determine if this blog is going to be productive and meet the expectations that we had desired for its existance. Traffic on the blog has increased (over 5,000 unique visitors the first three months of 2006), and we are seeing that most of the posts and pages about the individual refugees are being read. Direct support and comments have not yet started to happen, but at least the story is being told. For all of your attention, we are thankful.
Therefore, starting next month I will be making major updates to the postings to report current news at Buduburam and the work being done there. Again I appeal to the readers to please comment on the posts and articles.

This blog has just begun its 12th month. We have been blessed with visitors from 4 continents and are being viewed by 75 different people each day. For this response, we are very honored and grateful.

However unless the viewers begin to post messages and / or comments we will have to consider changing the focus of how we approach this ministry.

This will be a difficult decision to make, as we had hoped and prayed that many would not only be passive readers, but become personally involved with our work.

I know that you are wondering what can I do? Well, login, open an account and begin to post comments for starters. So many of you respond by email, but that does not expose your thoughts , desires, wisdom and insight to all.

Please make comments to this post as a beginning. Tell me what to do to make this successful.

This post is to ask all of the various readers to consider becoming more involved. You visit, read any posts I have written, look at the different articles, posts on various refugee stories and then come back later to look for updates.

What I am asking is for all the readers to create or use their login accounts to begin posting comments. I am asking for involvement. I do not desire this blog to be just a news service, but rather a site of inter-action between individuals.

After you have become familiar with the concept of posting comments, reading comments and responding to your posted comments; I would like for you to consider becoming authors of posts that appear in the main page. This blog is not owned by me for my singular purpose but to all who visit and contribute.

Join in and help us move this mission to the next level.

This post is announce a milestone for this blog.

Since this blog has started, we have received 7,000 vistors from 4 continents! We have now over 50 unique visitors that have created accounts on the blog. We are beginning to see much new trafic. We just received the 100,000th hit on the site. Around 58 different people visit the site each day and view approximately 8 pages each visit. This is great news! Please pray that God continues to bless this work and helps spread the news that we publish.

It is my desire as the host to ask visitors to begin to post their comments to the articles and become more active, not just readers. What you say will help us guide our efforts and also is a strength to the refugees that we support, to see others involved in their struggles is a great comfort.

Pray for our continued success.
