Pres. Ellen Johnson-Sirleaf Inaugural Address

January 25th, 2006

I have added the text of the inaugural address of Pres. Ellen Johnson-Sirleaf as she took the oath of office as the new President of Liberia on Monday, January 16, 2005 - Capitol Building, Capitol Hill, Monrovia, Liberia.

Read her words and understand that this message is bold and must be read by all, so that our prayers may go forth to God for the re-building of Liberia.

To all my refugee friends, my dear brothers and sisters in Christ, please read her words and know that, I am praying with you.

May God grant you wisdom as you seek your future.

Appeal for assistance for refugee status

I received this updated story from a dear Christian woman, The Caroline Siah Kpou. Caroline has suffered much and needs our help.

Because she has lived under such great fear and has been protective of her children, her story originally told to authorities in Guinea was NOT the complete story of her suffering from the war in Liberia.

On September 6, 2005, she and her two children were denied immigration to the United States to join her husband who is already here.

Imagine living as a refugee for five years in two foreign countries, supporting two children, knowing your husband has successfully immigrated to the U.S; and, then being denied because you have a ‘credibility’ issue.

Please read her letter to me and her story and then ask God for intervention in her plight to re-unite her family in the safety of America.

ATTENTION KEN DAVIS;

Please let me inform you that the story concerning my parents was NOT provided in Guinea to the UNHCR/IMMIGRATION for fear of my mother’s friend ma Isatu who threaten to abandon me if I say or mention anything concerning my plight in the war. Her reason was that since during our one year at the boarder, I had constant nightmare of what happened to my parents and my encountered personally, this made me to cry and become sickly all the times. So if this is not mentioned anymore according to her, I will be at peace and without sickness and nightmare though I had it in my mind wherever I went.

But as time went by 2003 when I was no more in Guinea and out of her care, I decided to let this out. I did not even mention this my story to my husband even when we got married until he left for the states in 1998. But he was recently told by me in the year 2003.

This is the reason why the Immigration told me that my story is DIFFERENT from the one I told them in refugee life in Guinea. This is simply because in Guinea, I had no opportunity to say it but in Ghana I had the time and place to say what all happened to me.

Ken and friends, please help me and my children secure our future in America by allowing us to join my husband and father of my children.

CCF Appeal

CHILD CARE FOUNDATION

We take this time to appeal to all Christian groups, UNICEF, SAVE THE CHILDREN, family and other Child-related Organizations to come in and help our efforts in securing the future of those children.

The Child Care Foundation is a Christian community based organization which caters to the needs of children in the communities where she finds herself. The foundation is now working in Buduburam Refugee Settlement, Central Region, Ghana.

The purpose of this establishment was to meet some larger needs of the Liberian children whose future is really bleak without the provision of those needs. The basic program needs are: education, health, counseling advocacy, etc…

At present, the foundation is involved in the following activities within the Buduburam Refugee Settlement. They are:

1. A Bible school for some orphans, abandoned, disadvantaged, etc children within the age group of 6yrs-14yrs. The school has about 70 children and we provide feeding for them on Saturdays.

2. The provision of scholarships for some of the above mentioned children. We have paid fees, bought uniforms and other basic items for twenty-seven(27) of those children(both Liberian and Ghanaian). As the foundation gets more funding, the Child Care Foundation will provide the scholarship for additional number of children still in need and be able to maintain the ones in schools.

3. Some counseling and advocacy activities for those children that we work with.

The Child Care Foundation wish to provide the children with the following programs in the future:

a. Health Care Delivery Program. We also had noticed with interest that some children died due to the lack of fund for medication.

b. Daily Feeding Program. We also had noticed that with the education and other programs, many of the children hardly get a daily meal, which if not addressed, will hinder their smooth learning process.

Child Care Foundation Opens Liberian Efforts

CHILD CARE FOUNDATION
Liberian CCF Work Started

The following email was forwarded to me from Buduburam. It is great news that the efforts of CCF have expanded to Liberia. This is vitally important as it provides a means for each of these children to be taken care if they can be re-located to their homeland (Liberia).

Greetings from your co-worker of CCF in Liberia.

We wish to inform you that we found the office space for the orginazation on Ashmus street in Monrovia.

The problem now is the money to pay for the area. We decided to tax one another so that we can pay for the space. We received the constitution and bylaws that you mailed. Are we going to use the constitution for the registration? What information have you heard about us as a congregation?

Brother Travis, a friend and I are trying to put an elementary school in order to help the suffering masses. We want for you to help find a board of directors in the state which you will be a member or if you wish for the school to be under CCF.

I visited Lofa two days ago for my son business and I saw the need for the church to go in the area as the people are returning now. I told you one time about a visit to Ghana so that we could meet Brethern that are mission minded to help with the work and you told me wait. What is your advice? Remember that the people of Lofa needs the Gospel as the county is the only largest in the republic.

These are your co-workers in Liberia with their assignment:
1. Bro. Richard T. Blamo; Coordinator / Supervisor
2. Bro. Alfred Z. Beyan; Relief and Training Officer
3. Bro. O.D K Zakamah; Program Coordinator
4. Sis Ruth Borlon; Child Welfare Officer
5. Bro Aabraham Kollie; Finance Officer
6. Bro Otis Nyumah; Project Officer
7. Bro Samuel Taye; Secretary

Thanks you,

Alfred Beyan

Child Care Foundation Appeal

September 27th, 2005

My dear friend and brother and adopted son in Christ John B Travis was so kind as to send me pictures of the children he is working with at the Child Care Foundation.

Please look at these children, read about the work being done and ask God whether you should be a part of the work that needs to be done.

Pictures of of these children are now
here
for you to view.

Mary and I have been helping these children receive Bible classes and a small meal one day a week for about nine months, but I am making a personal appeal to all to help with the increase work that is being undertaken by the staff at Buduburam. Please comment to this post if your are interested in helping with these expenses.

A daily Bible session with food and drink for up to 50 children can be accomplished with only $ 65.88 USD per month. This is such a small price to help change so many lives.

May the Lord bring us to discernment and prayer;
and, by the grace of God support.

Matthew 25:34-40 KJV Then shall the King say unto them on his right hand, Come, ye blessed of my Father, inherit the kingdom prepared for you from the foundation of the world: 35 For I was an hungred, and ye gave me meat: I was thirsty, and ye gave me drink: I was a stranger, and ye took me in: 36 Naked, and ye clothed me: I was sick, and ye visited me: I was in prison, and ye came unto me. 37 Then shall the righteous answer him, saying, Lord, when saw we thee an hungred, and fed thee? or thirsty, and gave thee drink? 38 When saw we thee a stranger, and took thee in? or naked, and clothed thee? 39 Or when saw we thee sick, or in prison, and came unto thee? 40 And the King shall answer and say unto them, Verily I say unto you, Inasmuch as ye have done it unto one of the least of these my brethren, ye have done it unto me.
